fal Launches FLUX 3 Max — AI Video Generation 22x Faster

AI Video Generated in Seconds, Not Minutes

fal.ai, a popular enterprise AI content creation platform, launched FLUX 3 Max on October 19 — a video model developed in partnership with German AI lab Black Forest Labs. The headline feature is speed: a 10-second clip takes about 12.45 seconds to generate, compared to roughly 278 seconds (over 4.5 minutes) for competing model Seedance 2.5 from Dreamina — nearly a 22x difference.

According to independent quality rankings from Artificial Analysis, FLUX 3 Max scores nearly identically to the two leading competitors in the space (Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3), meaning the dramatic speed gain doesn't come with a meaningful quality tradeoff.

Why This Matters for Small and Medium Businesses

For marketing and content teams, time is usually the scarcest resource. Instead of waiting minutes for each attempt, teams can now test camera angles, framing, and visual ideas in near real-time — and revise while the idea is still fresh. fal also offers image-to-video generation and a keyframes feature for guiding a clip's visual stages, giving teams more creative control.

The pricing backs this up: an introductory discount (through November 7) brings the cost of a 10-second 720p clip down to about $0.43 (versus $1.70 at regular pricing). That's a significantly lower barrier to entry for small businesses wanting to experiment with AI-generated video for social media, short ads, or product demos — without investing in expensive filming or editing equipment.

Worth noting: these are vendor-published performance figures, and as with any model launch, real-world results may vary depending on settings and workload.

Separately, Nvidia announced a new open-model family called Nemotron 3.5 — including a large model (Super VL, 120 billion parameters) for enterprise AI agents, plus two lighter Bolt models designed to run locally on new Nvidia-chip-powered PCs. Unlike closed models from OpenAI and Anthropic, these are open-weight models that organizations can train on their own data and deploy on their own infrastructure, without relying on external cloud services. Early adopters reportedly include EY, Ramp, Crowdstrike, and Salesforce. This trend toward cheaper, locally-run AI agents could eventually make it easier for smaller businesses to adopt such tools without depending solely on expensive cloud services.
